A bibliography complied by Chris Hager of the Boston Contragate Action Team) on the U.S. imperialist role in world affairs. [The Contragate Action Team of Boston is a group of ordinary citizens who teamed up in 1987 to support the Christic Institute in its Miami suit against 29 alleged Contragate figures, and to educate themselves and the public about the Contragate scandal. To achieve these goals the CAT hosts speakers, promotes housemeetings for speeches or showing of video tapes about the scandal, sends out mailings, raises funds to support the litigation, and dreams up a variety of other actions to educate people about the Christic lawsuit, the activities of Contragate figures since the 1950's, and their circumvention of the law and US constitution.] The bibliography is in three parts. The first section lists essential titles the second section lists essential and important titles, and the third section includes the first two plus further, in-depth selections. Please send your comments via electronic mail to Chris at catboston. ******************************************************** U.S COVERT ACTION AND SECRET OPERATIONS (ESSENTIAL) READING LIST Compiled by Chris Hager [contact on Peacenet at "catboston"] IRAN-CONTRA AFFAIR AND THE DRUG CONNECTION * Leslie Cockburn, Out Of Control, Atlantic Monthly Press, 1987. * Jonathan Marshall, Peter Dale Scott & Jane Hunter, The Iran Contra Connection: Secret Teams and Covert Operations in the Reagan Era, South End Press, 1987.
