(Pardon this being a day late - all my postings are returning to my mailbox. Caltech/Gumby has been core-dumping and worse - possibly from all the QUAKE INFORMATION BEING AMASSED, or because all of my postings are being monitored by Them) (--in which case, They now know who _you_ are 8( QUAKE DAY - Minus 5 >>An 8.3 (-/+.5) earthquake is being predicted to occur, between >>now and September 22, 1992, and epicentered within 100 miles of >>Palm Springs, California. Lest you Northerners think you're >>home-free, there's a 7.8 (-/+.4) scheduled for Sonoma County, >>by September 28th. And a 7.1 for San Diego, by October 14. >>This information comes from Gordon-Michael Scallion, a clair- >>voyant living safely beyond the new shoreline in New Hampshire. Wed, Sept 16, 1992, 10:27am, Hollywood: Not the Big One, but... I was awakened this morning by a strong rumbling shake, which stopped before I could get under a doorjamb. I usually sleep through the neighborhood morning gunfire, helicopters and police loudspeakers - so this was no small deal. There were a few mentions on the radio, and soon several news bulletins promised a full report by late afternoon. I waited... but there was precious little hard data. Officially, this was reported over the Los Angeles news media as a "Sky Quake" - ie, a significant shaker with no apparent seismic origin, therefore probably caused by the US Air Force testing its new 4000mph Aurora jet with great secrecy over a city of 8.9 million civilians. Naturally, the US military won't confirm any of this. It's not like we're footing their bill, or anything. On a similar note: Meriday Beth reports that one of her friends, a former US Army Intelligence officer, told her that once upon a time (recently) a person of diplomatic persuasion was needed in Germany ASAP, so They told him to visit the nearest military airbase (near Washington DC) and meet a special jet. The jet pilot handed him a spacesuit, saying "Put this on, you're going to need it." They took off, and 1.5 hours later they were in Germany. Officer's Disclaimer: "None of this actually happened, or I wouldn't be able to talk about it." The above note has nothing to do with earthquakes, but I still expect to hear some door-shaking, soon... --------------------------------------------------------------- (For those of you eagerly awaiting these hard-hitting postings, it's been getting increasingly difficult to access/connect. Today, Caltech/Gumby didn't even EXIST) QUAKE DAY - Minus 3 Over-heard on a Los Angeles radio news call-in show, just after one of the usual seismic non-events in Shakey City (that's actual trucker CB code for Los Angeles, BTW): Anything broken? Aw, no, we thought a truck drove by or something/ Next caller, hello! Any damage? Uh, um, ah, no, nothing damaged, we just felt a little/ Thank you, next caller, hello? It's a disaster! What? What happened, are you alright? Everything fell! It's a shambles! Was anyone hurt? Gently, gently, maybe we can save the head/ Hello - was anyone killed?! No! Don't touch it! It's extremely hot! Scuse me? What are your _damages_? I don't believe it, it's completely ruined! Look, where are you?! We're sending our news-crew over/ It was so perfect, the finest one I have ever made/ What?! Finest what? What're you talking about? My spinach & mushroom souffle, it's _completely_ fallen/ Thank you, next caller! Jane, what? Uh, all lines are open! [Ever notice how impatient these news DJ's are?] Has there been any damage? Hello, caller on 4, go ahead! Uh, uh, no damage, but/ Thanks. Jane! What other lines/ Wait, wait! My cats!/ What? Yes, Caller 4 - you're on!" My cats, just before the quake, they started acting crazy/ How soon before the quake, what was their reaction? Oh, they were just sort of spinning, you know/ Spinning? Yeah, just.. Oh my GOD, lookit'em GO NOW!!!/ Caller? Caller?! Jane, quick - get him back on! --------------------------------------------------------------- QUAKE DAY - Minus 4 >>An 8.3 (-/+.5) earthquake is being predicted to occur, between >>now and September 22, 1992, and epicentered within 100 miles of >>Palm Springs, California. Just looked at a US Geographic Survey of my area. Interesting, how the Glendale Freeway was planned to connect to the Hollywood Freeway - snaking right over the line of the Silverlake Fault, just south of my house. Mentioned that to Meriday Beth - UNIX Wizardess of Concord & Keeper of the Jumpy Spider Queen. She reports that her county uses that same government planning psychology - the local BART Rail tracks run right over _that_ area's fault, between Concord and Walnut Creek. Overheard in the Field: "Why look! There's a long, ancient arroyo over there, that cuts right through those hills, that all the developers have avoided and all the animals seem to fear! Let's pack it up with some landfill, and build a multi-million-dollar driverless public transportation system for hundreds of thousands of our trusting taxpayers!" _________ . _._.` , *_.. .____'__ _____________________________ + ,.+ .* . _ _. *.`. .. Even Mr S admits to a varying % of accuracy. But in his #12 Newsletter, which I saw with my own eyes on Sunday (Sep 13), he cites he actually did predict Hurricane Andrew. Don't have that Report #11 handy, can't verify it. But #12 also states, "my prophecy continues that a second hurricane is coming by September 22nd." ...Just heard on the news tonight (9/17) there's another depression forming off FLA. Is Mr S just channeling ether, or does he secretly consult a reliable source? What does the Farmers' Almanac say about Sept 22 '92 - anyone have a copy?
