From braintree!news.sprintlink.net!howland.reston.ans.net!ix.netcom.com!netcom.com!landeck Tue Oct 10 10:05:00 1995 Newsgroups: alt.religion.scientology Path: braintree!news.sprintlink.net!howland.reston.ans.net!ix.netcom.com!netcom.com!landeck From: landeck@netcom.com (Albert Landeck) Subject: Scientology Slammed on Local Radio Station Message-ID: Summary: DJ makes Scientology jokes Organization: NETCOM On-line Communication Services (408 261-4700 guest) Date: Mon, 9 Oct 1995 22:26:28 GMT Lines: 29 Sender: landeck@netcom.netcom.com Now I've heard everything... Live105 (Radio 105.3 KITS in San Francisco) has started making Scientology jokes on the air. Rick Stewart, the early afternoon DJ, must be a reader of this group, or least gets snippets, as does Alex Bennet the morning show host. About an hour ago I heard Rick Stewart say the following (mind you this is heavily paraphrased since it's from my memory): Call in now for a chance at some free OT levels to clear the Thetans from you now... followed by ... science fiction (hah, hah), isn't it amazing what you can do if you're a cult and can charge $30,000 dollars for a session... and then the real evidence of ARS contact ... had a wonderful clam lunch, just SNAPPED it up... It seems the views of this newsgroup are making their way into the mainstream, if radio personalities are making jokes at the expense of scientology, especially about OT levels. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Albert Landeck "I don't say we all ought to misbehave, Software Architect but we ought to look as if we could." landeck@sybase.com - Orson Welles landeck@netcom.com
