Since some of the materials which describe the $cientology cult could be considered to be copywritten materials, I have censored myself and The Skeptic Tank by deleting any and all possible text files which describes the cult's hidden mythologies. I have elected to quote just a bit of the questionable text according to the "Fair Use" legal findings afforded to those who report. - Fredric L. Ron Hubbard and used by Applied Scholastics in a variety of secular programs. Many of these are community outreach projects supported by volunteering and funding by Scientologists. This is interesting data for Scientologists who are not familiar with it, and for anyone that is interested in literacy. The following studies have been done which demonstrate the efficacy of the study technology developed by L. Ron Hubbard. * In New Zealand, students in a girls school showed an increase of twelve IQ points on the Otis Lennon Mental Ability Test after completing a course based on Mr. Hubbard's learning methods. * College students at the East Los Angeles College in California received twenty hours of instruction in the study technology. Tested before and after the course in vocabulary, reading comprehension, arithmetics reasoning, arithmetic fundamentals, language mechanics and spelling, the students improved an equivalent of approximately one grade level in each area tested. * Another study conducted in England showed that students shot ahead 1.29 years in their reading levels after just ten hours of study using M.r Hubbard's study technology. Comparatively, no gain in reading levels was found in a control group of students not instructed in study technology. * In a separate project in Los Angeles, high-school students tested after a forty-hour period of classroom instruction in study technology showed a remarkable average gain of over two years per student. In a similar project in South Africa., the average gain in reading age was two years and three months. *In Mexico city, the study technology was introduced into a private school. High-school students in one class had failed 95 percent of their materials. After application of L. Ron Hubbard's study technology, the class passed 90 percent of the materials the following year. The following corporations have used L. Ron Hubbard's study technology to train their employees: Allstate Insurance Executive Software General Motors Lancome Sterling Management Tigre Lis Enterprises U_Man International Epson America Buick Ohio Institute of Technology Transwestern Institute Interface Computers Volkswagen/Audi Perrier Elizabeth Arden National Cash Register Citraen Cyanamid Mobil Oil Trust Bank of South Africa General Motors, for instance, invested millions of dollars in a computer system no one could use. Consultants using the study technology reduced training time (the time it took for the employee to be able to actually apply what he had learned) for new employees to three weeks - from six to twelve months! Anyone that has used this technology will agree - it increases ability to retain and actually utilize data, as well as decreasing the time it takes to assimilate data. There are many conceivable applications for such a technology, especially in today's fast paced technological world. It can be used at any level of literacy, from someone who is completely illiterate, to someone who has a college degree and wants to utilize study more effectively. Mr. Hubbard has again managed to spot the one area of education which has been almost totally neglected - learning HOW to learn - and has developed an incredibly workable technology for this area.
