06-Apr-87 22:55 MST Sb: APfl 04/06 Ghost Hunters NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- A Florida man says he is seeking reports of haunted Louisiana houses to compile an apparitions register, but no kooks need call. "We are not interested on spiritualism, cults or any lunatic fringe. We are interested in gathering data on verifiable reports of apparitions, but are not suggesting any explanation for such reports," Julian Granberry of Horseshoe Beach, Fla., said. Granberry's organization, Ghost Hunters, is compiling a Louisiana Apparitions Register, which will try to list all the hauntings reported in Louisiana. A former professor of anthropology at St. John Fisher College in Rochester, N.Y. and a member of the American Society for Psychical Research, Granberry said that a group of scientists of which he is a member has begun to investigate "whatever is reponsible for the evidence of ghostly activities over the centuries." Besides Louisiana, the group is also collecting reports from Florida, Georgia and South Carolina and will prepare a register for those states. Granberry has files filled with reports from England, Ireland and Scotland. Granberry, 58, an industrial consultant, said he has already recieved about 50 reports, mostly from the Florida area, he said, that need to be followed up. Copyright 1987 by the Associated Press.
