NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- A Florida man says he is seeking reports of haunted
Louisiana houses to compile an apparitions register, but no kooks need call.
"We are not interested on spiritualism, cults or any lunatic fringe. We are
interested in gathering data on verifiable reports of apparitions, but are not
suggesting any explanation for such reports," Julian Granberry of Horseshoe
Beach, Fla., said.
Granberry's organization, Ghost Hunters, is compiling a Louisiana Apparitions
Register, which will try to list all the hauntings reported in Louisiana.
A former professor of anthropology at St. John Fisher College in Rochester,
N.Y. and a member of the American Society for Psychical Research, Granberry said
that a group of scientists of which he is a member has begun to investigate
"whatever is reponsible for the evidence of ghostly activities over the
Besides Louisiana, the group is also collecting reports from Florida, Georgia
and South Carolina and will prepare a register for those states. Granberry has
files filled with reports from England, Ireland and Scotland.
Granberry, 58, an industrial consultant, said he has already recieved about
50 reports, mostly from the Florida area, he said, that need to be followed up.
