By: Fredric Rice To: Lynda Bustilloz Re: Promise Keepers Cult: Utterly evil lb> Promise Keepers Promises lb> 1. A Promise Keeper is committed to honoring Jesus Christ Which, by the way, is their worse evil. As usual, by giving convienient attributes to their fictional construct and "honoring" what they pretend their construct wanted, they can, as always, justify whatever they do and say as "the will of Jesus." Want women out of the work force? Well so does Jesus! And we here at the PK cult honor that. Besides, it's all for the little woman's good, you know. And don't forget that Jesus doesn't want woment to have paid pregnancy leave, he just wants women to be pregnant! We _honor_ that. FR> What's not so very surprising is that the written "manifesto" is so FR> different than the anti-women rhetoric which their own carasmatic cult FR> leaders spout whenever the media gives them free air time. FR> The PK cult's "manifesto" is as valid a depiction of their agenda as FR> the ICR cult's "manifesto" is a valid depiction of science. lb> (G) Until I went and scooped up the actual manifesto, the only thing I lb> knew about them was what little I'd heard on the news (the same goofy BS lb> you are referring to), and my sole experience with an actual PKer -- my lb> neighbor (yes, THAT one). I don't know any man personally who jumped onto the PK bandwagon. A great deal of what they stand for was stated straight from the horse's mouth on KFI AM Los Angeles and it was _not_ what their pretend "manifesto" stated. lb> I have to agree -- their public statement of mission doesn't lb> line up well with what I've seen of them in practice. I find it very disheartening that women actually defend the PK neophyte. I have reached the inescapable conclusion that the support for PK by women is much like the phenomena of younger women selecting "dangerous" males or males which are otherwise abusive. Some women just naturallywant to be dominanted and play the "little woman" to the "pappa knows best" male. It's either that or women ignore what they state they stand for and pick and choose what they hear about the cult and ignore the rest. --- * Origin: Pray to end abortion! Nothing fails like prayer.
