ARCHI: to archivee messages.
I needed an efficient way to archive all messages appearing in an
My idea was this: use a "ghost" point, and forward to it all messages
(like it was a normal point), but define a packer to produce plain
ASCII files instead of regular ArcMail ones.
To install Archi, you have to:
a) Choose a free point number (if you're a point, contact your boss to
have a second number)
b) Link this new ghost point to the area you want to archive
c) Define, for that point, the packer ARCHI, whose syntax is:
ARCHI.EXE filename.log arcmail.file packet.file
Where filename.log is the name of your archive file (usually, this
name goes into the "Command options" field of your setup), and
arcmail.file and packet.file are usually added by your mail processor.
An example with Wmail:
;Node Paccker Options
334/306.7 Lharc.Exe a -m
; the point above is a regular point
; the point below is our archiver
334/306.2000 Archie.Exe philosop.hi
d) Place Archi.Exe togheter with your other packers
e) If you want, send me a post card, and/or a recipe of your country
(money will not be refused, but is unnecessary)
If you find bugs, or similar bad things, please notice me.
