Larry Sites 03-09-14 10:29:00 Introducing ICR In Sept. 1993, I picked up the undated ICR pamplet _Introducing ICR, A worldwide outreach to families and nations_. The Institure for Creation Research address is PO box 2667, El Cajon, CA 92021, phone 619-448-0900. The pamplet has brief descriptions of the "ICR's many vital outreaches". They include graduate school, research, seminars, 'good science' programs, books/tapes/videos, radio broadcasts, museum of creation and earth history, ICR tours, free publications, stewardship and trust services, and international outreach. The following sections are from the pamplet: Why ICR? Because American society - especially our educational system - is dominated by evolutionary humanism. Because the harmful consequences of evolutionary thinking on families and society (abortion, promiscuity, drug abuse, homosexuality, and many others) are evident all around us. Because this rebellion against God and His laws stems from unbelieving scientists and educators undermining the foundational truth of creation. We believe God has raised up ICR to spearhead Biblical Christianity's defense against the godless dogma of evolutionary humanism. Only by showing the scientific bankruptcy of evolution, while exalting Christ and the Bible, will Christions be successful in 'the pulling down of strongholds; casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ' (2 Corinthians 10:4,5). What we believe All ICR staff members adhere to a Statement of Faith in the form of two documents: 'Tenets of Scientific Creationism' and 'Tenets of Biblical Creationism,' key features of which are summarized below: All things were supernaturally created by the Triune God - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Bible is the divinely inspired revelation of the Creator, completely free from error of any sort - scientifically, historically, morally, and theologically. Each basic type of plant and animal was specifically created 'after its kind' by God. None came from non-living substances, nor did any develop from some other plant or animal. The first human beings, Adam and Eve, were specially created by God; all other men and women are their descendants. In Adam, mankind was given 'dominion' over all other created organisms and over the earth itself. The creation of all things occured in six literal days. All things were originally 'very good.' God's natural laws now act to conserve His creation. The entrance of sin into the world, through Adam, brought God's curse on all creation, culminating in death and separation from God. There was no suffering or death in the world prior to this. The Biblical record of the primeval world is fully historical, including recent creation of all things, the fall, the curse, the flood, and the dispersion of nations at Babel. Evidences in the earth's crust and in human legends are to be interpreted in light of this *true* history. The separation of man from God can only be remedied by the Creator Himself, who became man in the person of Jesus Christ - virgin-born and sinless - so that His substitutionary death and bodily resurrection could pay the price of man's redemption. God will one day restore creation to its original state, by the removal of His curse and restoration of all things. This will take place following His personal, bodily return to earth. You can help As a missionary organization, ICR is funded by God's people. The majority of its income is provided by individual donors who desire to proclaim God's truth about origins. We invite you to join this key group of supporters. Your gifts can be designated for research, the graduate school, seminars, or any specific part of the ICR ministry. All others will be used where most needed. We pledge to use them wisely and with integrity.
