REALL Rational Examination Association of Lincoln Land __________________________________________________________ David Bloomberg 1813 Seven Pines Rd., #2 Springfield, IL 62704 (217) XXX-XXXX June 30, 1993 Time Magazine Letters Time & Life Building Rockefeller Center New York, NY 10020 To the Editor: In his July 5 article about CBS, Sun Pictures, and The Incredible Discovery of Noah's Ark, Leon Jaroff made a number of very good points. The most important of these is that CBS pawned off two hours of nonsense (six if you include the other two shows involving Sun) as if it were a documentary. Sure, CBS claims it was "entertainment", but the content of the programs clearly show otherwise. The only question I have is: Why did it take a hoax to get the attention of the general media? I and others wrote about the shoddy "science" and research involved in these productions as soon as they came out. Because these articles were generally in relatively specialized newsletters, they weren't seen by many; but if we saw such glaring errors, surely others must have caught them too. I hope your article will alert others to keep an eye out for the pseudo-science and other nonsense which is all too often used to muddy the waters of scientific investigation. /s/ David Bloomberg David Bloomberg, Chairman Rational Examination Association of Lincoln Land
