"It is estimated that in Germany 1450-1550, one hundred thousand
alleged witches were put to death...in other areas, where the supply of
firewood proved inadequate for individual burnings, large ovens were
constructed in which numbers of witches could be simultaneously
roasted to death...if a child was said to have accompanied its
mother to the witches sabbat, the original practice was for it to be
flogged in front of the fire on which its mother was burning, but it
was later decided that this was too lenient, and the children were
burned as well........
In 1768 John Wesley wrote in his Journal that those who disbelieved
in witchcrft were 'in direct opposition, not only to the Bible, but
to the suffrage of the wisest and best of men in all ages and
nations...the giving up of belief in witchcraft is in effect,
giving up the Bible............".

Yep, this is what happens when fundies get positions of power; the
ravings we've seen here, whether a hoax or not (and I'm far from
convinced they are a hoax) should be a constant reminder that fundy-
bashing is a honourable and noble pastime. If there was a God,
even he would do it...........
