Tiffany's used to buy a couple of lines of space (in agate type) at
the bottom of the columns on the first page of the New York Times to
advertise "TRY GOD".
I always wanted (but was chicken, cheap, and too lazy) to buy similar space
and proclaim "TRY GOD for war crimes". I did write a song with a calypso
When I saw that God worked for Tiffany's,
You can imagine my surprise.
I heard the news, it made me sad,
But I'd seen the ad.
TRY GOD! for war crimes,
God got his job through the New York Times.
TRY GOD! for crimes against humanity,
God shouldn't be working at Tiffany's.
