> I am really interested in hearing some of the evidence that a particular > deity doesn't exist. As you have stated, the evidence is variable from > person to person, but I am really intrigued as to how something that > cannot be proved to exist, can be proved to NOT exist!? ie. theists that > maintain that their deity has contacted them have legitimate evidence > (as far as they are concerned!) as to the existence of their deity. How > can an atheist have proof of the NON-existence of an deity? This is wonderful. I get to Witness as an atheist. Verily I say unto you that one day, as I walked down the road to my local over-priced 24-hour mart, I was not filled with the Spirit, nor was I visited by a blinding White Light. And as I thumbed through the magazine rack looking for a copy of Mother Jones, an Angel wearing a satin robe by Halsted did not visit me. And the Angel did not say to me, "Rejoice, for you have found favor in the eyes of the Lord." Then I didn't hear an unearthly choir, nor was I granted visions and neither did I speak prophecy. And when, at last, I had found my magazine and went to pay for it, Behold! my language was not an unknown language, but good old English, and my diction was clear. Ah, I'm so glad to get that off my chest. I always thought if I told anyone about this, they'd think I was crazy. Dean Kaflowitz
