Near Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a Baker police officer turned on the 450-watt stereo system in his police car and began to blare gospel rock to a group of youth in the Howell Park area. The cop is a member of the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education ) program. When he got the attention of the youth, he explained that he had eight 10s (10-inch speakers) in the back seat. The state of Louisiana has installed the $20,000 sound systems in seven of its law enforcement and emergency vehicles to attract families or youths to the Christian Officers Prayer Squads (C.O.P.S.). C.O.P.S. is a five year old support group for the police to bring families and youth to Christ. When those who are attracted attend the hot dog and coke meets in Howell Park they are given Bibles to educate them in the ways of the lord.
